Is there any rhyme or reason to which items can be dispatched to the US from amazon.co.uk and which can't? Is it related to how new this one is? I've ordered several Harper Collins Tolkien books via amazon.co.uk and they've all shipped rather smoothly to the US, but they've also all been older books.
Dr. Joel Merriner has shared a cover reveal and release date for his forthcoming book, Illustrating The Lord of the Rings in the Soviet Bloc, being published by Bloomsbury Academic on September 18th, 2025. Congratulations Joel, very much looking forward to this!

This book by Dr. Joel Merriner looks very interesting. I’m going to have to get myself a copy. Thank you for sharing!
From HarperCollins...what could this be? ;)
This Tolkien Reading Day, we're inviting you to join us at the very start of a brand-new adventure, where we have found ourselves doing something altogether unexpected...

Since that you asked…..
For the 50th Anniversary Editions, the releases went as such:
~ 1-book hardback
~ 1-book deluxe slipcased edition
~ 3-book boxed set (well, '4' actually - the 4th book was the Companion by Hammond & Scull).
As it currently stands with the Author-Illustrated editions of The Lord of the Rings; if we follow this pattern, then we're 'missing' the 3-book boxed set.
So, it may very well be a ‘mix’ of the hardback boxed set that features the Hammond + Scull Companion, along with the ‘features’ / contents of the 1-book standard Author-Illustrated, though presented as 3 books. Not in ‘deluxe’ form: just a newer version of the multi-book hardback boxed set.
I’m sure we’ll find out in due time! 😁
