has provided me with this quote:
"These include Sarehole Mill and the gates leading to the University of Birmingham law building. Both features are thought to have possibly inspired Birmingham born author JRR Tolkein when writing his epic novel The Lord of the Rings."
Okay, I'm laughing at the "Birmingham born" bit, but does anyone know about the gates leading to the University of Birmingham law building? I haven't heard of that as a source before, but this doesn't mean it isn't true.
