Looking for a 1973 TT (7th imp.) with the purple cover i.e. the first impression(s) to have this new cover, back in the 70's (--after the grey jackets, that were intoduced with the 2nd edition.)
TolkienBooksDoesn't have to be F or anything; just to complete an o/w VG/VG set. Anyone have one knocking around?

Jeremy, I have an 8th --but that doesn't match, & ain't the earliest example of this format. There's actually a 7th on
eBay at present (BIT £14.99, or something --surprised you didn't find it...); but it's price-clipped. And we can't have that either...

I wasn't searching eBay for your book, so I didn't run across that other copy. I just happened to spot this copy in the RSS feed of new Tolkien books listed. (What, you don't watch the RSS feed of all new Tolkien books on eBay?)

No, I don't think you should - it is a slog, I was poking fun at myself for such a habit.
I usually do have time to go through eBay for other people's want requests (and ABE and other sources online) - it almost always finds me something else unexpected that makes the effort well worthwhile. I just haven't had time for yours yet!
