I just read in the Companion and Guide that Tolkien didn't like Gaelic at all (but he loved Ireland and the Irish). In spite of that I hope this translation does well anyway :)

The publisher Michael Everson's interest in Toklien is not just a passing one. His Wikipedia entry states
"Among the scripts "encoded" in the CSUR, Shavian and Deseret were eventually formally adopted into Unicode; two other conscripts under consideration are Tolkien's scripts of Tengwar and Cirth."

My copy has just arrived and I am v impressed with the quality.
It has no dj but a glossy hard cover and has the five colour, 8 B&W illustrations plus the mirkwood one with the "parchment" colourised versions of both maps with the text on the maps translated into Irish.
I am adding some photos for those who may be interested.
