signed LotR?

there's an early set of LotR here, with a loose signature which has a certificate of authenticity from a UK dealer. I haven't heard or read of the Universal Autographs Collectors Club before; has anyone here heard of them, or the dealer who signed the COA? And what are the group's thoughts on the signature itself?

Oh dear, have a look at this item which the COA issuer has sold, does the signature look familiar?

As for the signature, I don't like the J and the initial dots are in the wrong place :(

As soon as I see a "Certificate of Authenticity", I assume an autograph is fake. Worthless things that are used to dodge around lack of provenance.

yes; but I've never seen a UK one before. I think it's odd.

Agreed. I've always felt the COA was a shady "internet seller" practice, popular in the USA. I think I have seen one or two in the UK, but certainly much less common there. i think the culture is different, and the COAs perhaps became popular the US through baseball cards, etc.
