Could a boxed set of 1st Edition Lord of the Rings (1957) with 7th/5th/3rd impressions be a first state slipcase or is it more likely to be the second state? Does anyone happen to have both and/or know of any differences that aren't mentioned on TolkienBooks.net?

I would have thought first state, but you should just be able to tell from the label, right?

Well, according to
TolkienBooks.net both the first and second states have that price printed on the front panel ('63s net...') and the third state is the first to show no printed price.

Oh, you could be correct. About 100 times more likely that TolkienBooks is correct. I need to update my files!
