Saw this letter on Twitter, https://twitter.com/katypotts/status/1213222764628328453, they are looking to auction the letter for charity, which is a nice gesture. I do find the contents of the letter interesting as Tolkien does not normally get as cross as this, very surprised he replied at all.
Need help with some of the writing, and do you agree with what I think he said, thanks to Findegil for filling in the blanks, in bold below

Dear Mr Potts
I think you are asking too much of a busy man. Most of your questions are in any case unanswerable, by me, and some impertinent. You may put me down as an odd character, for personally I do not believe that any valuable truths or insights are discoverable by such questionnaires.
