You should be wary of sellers that want to go off process and remove buyer protections, definitely.

I will say that I know Mark of Copper Dragon Books from many prior personal dealings, and I absolutely don’t think he’s trying to pull anything, just keep his costs down. It might be worth discussing with him further to see if you can arrange something you are both comfortable with.

Always trust your gut, though.

That's unfortunate to hear! I was excited about that prospect working out, but I think we both have moved on.

I would LOVE to have this, however

1) my wife would shoot me (this is mostly because of "2)")
2) due to the scarcity of this edition, it would be INCREDIBLY expensive

I call it the 'unicorn' of books. (Something highly prized, yet incredibly rare, possibly unobtainable)

It definitely pops up from time to time and I have been saving my pennies so price hopefully won't be an issue (fingers crossed). I would buy the one on Abebooks right now if not for an unpleasant experience with the seller.
