Saw this quote from Ted in the latest Amon Hen #291.
I am also acting at long last on an art book of my career, partnering on that with a colleague who has influence with HarperCollins. I’ve written up text for the introduction and 2 chapters, and with artwork still being stored from my earliest efforts, it will be a pleasure choosing what goes into it. Certainly there will be more art than can possibly fit, but we intend to assemble the content and the notes and then go from there. I’m optimistic that the project will succeed within 1 or 2 more years.
Having asked Ted on more than one occasion about a book like this, very glad that it may come to fruition.

Good news, I can't wait to see this project done. Ted is my favorite illustrator and someone I really appreciate.

There may be some requests here for help documenting bibliographical info (e.g. foreign editions with Ted's artwork on it) in the future...
In the meantime, it never hurts to continue to make noise where HC might see it that people are interested in such a book.

I assume it would need to be HC because of rights around the Tolkien content?

It would be Ted's Tolkien Artwork that is the main selling point of the book. I think buyers would then be very surprised to see the other excellent art that he has done, but it would primarily be a 'Tolkien' book and HC would be the publishers for that.
