It's a collection of Tolkien articles in Swedish. Here's my (loose) translation of the blurb:
"Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a classic work which has taken on mythical proportions. Today many speak of the book as if one were speaking of man's creation stories. In dark times people turn to the work for comfort.
In 2023 it is 50 years since Tolkien died, and his work is more read and discussed than ever.
The Return of the Ring is a collection of texts by experienced writers and Tolkien profiles, examining what makes the work so powerful, and why it is being constantly renewed. The collection looks at the books' inspiring ability to find hope in hopelessness; the far right's use of Tolkien's symbolism; Tolkien's linguistic creations and how they provide an insight to the experiences of those who are exiled; Tolkien as a theologist; and how Tolkien was traumatised by the trenches of the First World War.
Inger Edelfeldt also recalls her time as a Tolkien illustrator, and Finn Zetterholm talks about his father Tore Zetterholm and his translation of the first Tolkien publication in Swedish: Hompen.
The Return of the Ring is a book for everyone who is fascinated by Tolkien's world."
We made some updates on Lawrence's website, it now contains all Tolkien's books in 2023-4 in Chinese & English, and most (I hope so) Tolkien's books in other languages.
(sorry but I can never remember how or where to create books box, like above. Maybe a button that redirect there will be useful ?)
That may be something Urulókë could add, but in the meantime to create a book box, you enter the following into your post, I normally remove any additional characters from the ISBN such as '-', but 9782359064377 or 978-2359064377 do work.
This is a great book. It restored all the photos from the first edition, with two self-made maps.
The 100 pages of translator's notes draw upon the fruits of Tolkien scholarship over the past few decades, and provides sources for most quotes in Biography.
The late Lawrence contributed to the translation, and designed the cards inspired by Book of Mazarbul. The original arts can be found on his website.
