Let me share with you a recently purchased Chinese version of The Lord of the Rings
In addition to the standard carton-shaped dust jacket, there is also a translucent dust jacket on the outside. The carton-shaped dust jacket is not too finely crafted, but the outer dust jacket seems to make up for this shortcoming. The backs of the three books display maps of Middle-earth. It seems that such a design is not common.

Lh my, these are really beautiful looking. Very stylish use of the maps with that slip over it all for the titles.

It seems the admin moved me to a new post. There are relatively few Tolkien fans in China (especially mainland China), but they are increasing in recent years due to the influence of The Hobbit movies. Therefore, many exquisite Chinese translations have been released over the years. If anyone is interested, I will continue to share some Chinese translations of Tolkien's works.
BTW, in comparison, Chinese books are really not expensive. This LoTR is about 15 US dollars. This is definitely good news for Tolkein collectors who collect versions in different languages.

I did move it as you posted in
northman's Recent Acquisition thread, for recent acquisitions you should create your own thread for your acquisitions.
However, in this case a useful post like yours should really be in the Translation's forum, making it easier for people to find in the future.
We are definitely interested in you posting more about Chinese translations. Thanks for posting.

Sadly the owner passed away this year, but we will keep the site updated.
Tolkien will enter public domain in China in two months. Dozens of new editions are expected to emerge.
Thank you so much for sharing! That is an incredible website for Chinese reader. Is there any organization similar to the Tolkien Book Club in mainland China where I could find some 志同道合 `s friend?

Alas, none to my knowledge. There are some active QQ groups and Weibo users, though.

That's a really nice looking set, I will have to track one down for my International LotR collection!
zionius are you one of the maintainers for the Chinese bibliography link you shared? So sad to hear that the owner (Lawrence?) passed away.

Yes, Lawrence used to be a member here.
I am one of the maintainers now. We plan to make an update in late Dec.
