John Closson Buttons
"John Closson, a NY fan, had designed the major Tolkien buttons which were very popular at the time; "Frodo Lives" in the Tengwar alphabet and Gandalf's firelighting spell in Sindarin in the Tengwar alphabet around the rim with "go, go, gandalf" in Cereth or runes in the center. Button On MacDougal had paid him $25 for each design and no royalties." (Ed Meskys, The View From Entropy Hall #12)
The tengwar around the edges of the "Go Go Gandalf" pins says "naur an edraith ammen / naur dan i ngaurhoth" which is Gandalf's spell "fire for saving us / fire against the wolf-horde".
