TCG Letter #123

Maegraith had sent Tolkien a packet, which he had not acknowledged, he explains he had waited in the hope to have something to say about it but May had been very busy, chief among the turmoil of the recent months had been the death of Charles Williams. Williams had died on the 15th of May and deeply saddened their circle of friends. Also with the deaths of many professors it has led to Tolkien being extraordinarily busy.

Tolkien does not believe that he could offer much criticism. If he were to offer critique, he would suggest it is good. Tolkien gives some general criticism of the stories included.

He concludes with an excuse for his handwriting, stating that he had to scribble at great speed.
