Bengt Söderhäll of Sweden writes to Pauline Baynes praising her illustrations in books by Tolkien. Since it is impossible to write a personal letter to Tolkien, if she meets him, could she convey Bengt’s thanks to him and ask him what The Red Book is? Perhaps Baynes knows it herself? "What I want to know about it, is, if it has any reality?" and adds a postscript "If you have an old drawing, that you don’t want to save, I could take it!"
