Baynes noted various Tolkien related activities in her diary around this time, "2 November, 1969: Fritz and I Off the Meet the Tolkiens at the Miramar with my map 11.0. Had lunch with them then back to their bungalow. He in great form – first names and kissing all round – and pleased with the map. - 4 November, 1969: I have a phone call from Tolkien so had to alter the title of his map – then started starting [sic] the new book etc. - 6 November, 1969: met Joy Hill from Allen & Unwin who came down to collect the Tolkien poster."
