Tolkien writes to Allen & Unwin asking if there will be opportunity for the book to be reviewed. He wants C.S. Lewis especially to be able to review the book as his review of The Hobbit had a great deal of influence on its successes.
Noted in Chronologyp. 422[1] it is said that Tolkien returns the proof for the blurb, which is unchanged, and asks for plenty of copies to send to people who he has promised early information to.
