Donald Swann writes to Tolkien,Mentioned in Tolkien's own letter, Carpenter #294b: Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Donald Swann • 20 March 1967 (#974)[1] they talked about Elvish, songs, scripts for their book, and Tolkien mentions that is trying to complete his translation of Sir Gawain. Swann had hoped to decorate The Road Goes Ever On but if Tolkien is not up to translating 'A Elbereth Gilthoniel', he shouldn't concern himself with it.
