Sisam writes to Gordon. He has become alarmed at the lack of progress with the Clarendon Chaucer, saying that Tolkien "is occupied with Gawayne> influenza, thieves etc". He notes that Tolkien has continued with the text but that the glossary is still to be completed and comments further that Tolkien is also occupied on Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, about which E.V. Gordon has told him he is worried by the slow progress of.
He asks Gordon for the introduction and notes which are still outstanding.
Gordon will reply in defence of Tolkien on the matter. Letter from George S. Gordon to Kenneth Sisam • 28 February 1924 (#1638)[1]
