Sisam replies to Tolkien giving him dates to return the Clarendon Chaucer. It is not known if this letter is in reply to Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Kenneth Sisam • Early December 1924 (#1644) but Sisam makes no mention of Tolkien's letter about being delayed.[1]
He wants the glossary by end of year, 31 December at the latest and the notes by 31 January 1925. He again reiterates to Tolkien that the book cannot carry the costs of a long glossary, pointing out that it is not to be positioned for reader of phiology.
