Tolkien in reply to Susan Dagnall's letter sent that morning, Letter from Susan Dagnall to J.R.R. Tolkien • 23 January 1937 (#1846)[1] , notes that he can keep either 13 or 14 February free. He includes the original drawing of Thror's Map and returns proofs of Mirkwood and Wilderland with notes on defects with them. A quote from the accompanying letter can be found in Hammond's Bibliography, p. 9.
He says that Elaine Griffiths has been appointed to a position at the Society of Oxford Home-Students from next term. He hopes that they can finish their work on the Clarke Hall Beowulf before the end of this term.
