C. A. writes, informing Tolkien that GA&U will send him a new binding for The Hobbit. It will have have different lettering without the lines under the title, which Furth agrees does look better. He hopes that Tolkien would agree to retain the lines at top and bottom as GA&U would like to keep those.
He also notes that unbound copies of The Hobbit will be sent to C.S. Lewis and to the Oxford Magazine. He further notes that they will recieve reviews copies in due course but on Tolkien's listSee History of the Hobbit, p. 881[1] Tolkien notes that both Lewis and Oxford Magazine have copies.
