Tolkien opens this two sided post-note apologising for his delay in replying. He and Edith have both been very ill of late. He had recieved the proof-copy of The Return of the King. He hopes they can meet soon. Tolkien's daughter, Priscilla, is currently working as a social worker in Birmingham.
