From
C.S. Lewis
To
Ed Meskys
Date
3 Oct 1963
Type
Typed Letter
Transcript
Complete
Lewis responds to a letter from Ed Meskys, who had asked for permission to reprint Lewis's poem "The End of the Wine" in Niekas, and also asked what relation there was between this poem (which mentions Numinor) and Tolkien's writings. Lewis responds saying that the only tie is the use of the name "Numinor (= Atlantis)" and says that he has no idea when more of Tolkien's writings will be published, as he is "both a procrastinator & perfectionist." Lewis mentions how long (and with much effort) it took to get The Lord of the Rings published.
