Tolkien writes to Donald Swann including more material for his project. He thanks Swann for not cursing him. He has had long delays and while trying to work on "Elvish script" and work on his "Gawain and the Pearl". Tolkien humorously says that he has "tried to sit down on two stools" and has "of course slumped between them".

He says that tomorrow he will tomorrow send of some calligraphic samples to him and that Swann should use what he likes from the various material sent.
