Gordon replies to Sisam's letter of 13 November Letter from Kenneth Sisam to E.V. Gordon • 13 November 1923 (#1622)[1] , Gordon accepts the conditions for publication of Sir Gawain.
They will restrict the glossary to 50 pages but note that with Sir Gawain's, compared to other Middle English texts, it requires more "glossing".
Gordon had asked Sisam if the OUP would be interested in a modern translation of the text, and Sisam asked for a sample. Letter from Kenneth Sisam to E.V. Gordon • 13 November 1923 (#1622)[2] Gordon notes that Tolkien has already translated those lines and they will send him some of it to him.
