An excellent opportunity to acquire this sold out set before the upcoming publication of Folio Society's limited edition of 'The Hobbit', illustrated by the Tolkien artist Alan Lee, which is due to be released later this year. This is most likely a bit of glue, which would be difficult to remove cleanly without taking away a bit of the gildingThe back of The Return of the King has some light markings (See picture)Slip Case arrived with various smudges, scuffs, fraying on the front top, etc. (See picture).
