I don't know --should I have spotted something? Oh dear, I feel a little guilty for missing it Trotter. Do tell...

We may have pointed this out before...
The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien 1977
I may feel really good. No return policy; not sure if I'm so keen on bidding now. What if I don't feel really good after buying it?

Garm, i'm curious about your posting regarding the copy of ROTK. Do you just mean its not a first state, or am i missing something?
Perhaps I was being a little hypercritical; but not much. The first printing of RotK has no sig. mark 4, nor the sloping text.
The dustwrapper here has one-line reviews of each volume on the back flap, whereas the true 1st state has none.
So yes, I guess I am talking about first state as opposed to edition. Well anyway; it's still the vendor's fault for getting me het up.

Thanks for a good chuckle garm! I think you should contact the vendor and let him know that he's masquerading a 1/1. as a true 1/1 and then try and explain it to him!
