Pauline Diana Baynes signature?

I would certain question this item too. The flow of the signature (what you can see) looks all wrong and is it in pencil?
If just doesnt look right vs a genuine signature.
Seller hasnt offered any provenance so far.
Steer clear is my view.

I will send Pauline's signature that is in my book.
I also have a letter of provenance from the seller who knew Pauline personally and who received book from Pauline. I also have an additional letter confirming the authenticity from Danuta who was very close friend of Pauline and is a friend of the seller that the signature is original.

So when I compare two of these I think this isn't a genuine one.

I am disturbed because :

1.Pauline was a great person and a fantastic artist and it isn't fair to fake her signature.

2. this isn't fair to the buyer who thinks he is buying original.


If more people agree maybe we should report the item?

When looking at my signed Farmer Giles of Ham by Pauline Diana Baynes, she has signed it as Pauline Diana Baynes, and it is signed in ink.

I am not happy that the ebay item is genuinely signed by Pauline Baynes, and am happy that the auction was stopped.

I reported it to eBay shortly after it was relisted -- don't suppose it will achieve much, though.

I do not believe that this is a real signed item.

The seller is this bookshop in the UK (http://www.puddletownbookshop.co.uk/)

It may be better for members who think that the signature is not genuine, to email, [email protected] with your concerns?

We have nine days to get them to pull the auction by direct contact with the seller.

You can also report the item to ebay if you want but I am confident that nothing will happen by doing so.
