His house had a fairly typical 1950's fireplace, can't see a massive amount of interest in this ebay item.
It is also news to me that he started writing
The Lord of the Rings in 1933.

Anyone who buys a crappy random, ugly bit of an old house because someone once lived there requires a serious head examination... Junk is junk, no matter who might have sat near it.

I wish our "fairly typical 50s fireplaces" in Arizona looked like that.
And one could argue that buying multiple copies of the same book requires some head examination (I say staring at my bookcase ;)
