I believe the intention is to release the Lord of The Rings one paragraph at a time in 2017.
But will they be signed by Christopher Tolkien?

I'm not sure if this has come up (I did a quick search of the boards and did not find anything on it).

HarperCollins seems to be releasing The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun by Verlyn Flieger later this year.

The website states at the moment that it is an ebook only, and I can't find any reference to Verlyn Flieger on the site that you linked to, where did you see that?

The poem has been reprinted twice, since its appearance in the Welsh Review in 1945, http://www.tolkienbooks.net/php/details.php?reference=31350, in a bilingual English/Serbian edition.

The title (in your browser) of the linked HarperCollins web page states "The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun - Verlyn Flieger - eBook". That's the only reference I could see to Flieger.

I guess it would need some additional material by someone in order to bulk it up from being a small pamphlet... I enjoyed the Serbian edition; A few bits of tortured English here and there, but overall a worthy volume.

Edit: Some extra info:

Trotter, if you click on one of the related sites, like Amazon, you will see Verlyn Flieger's name there.

Link: https://www.amazon.ca/Lay-Aotrou-Itrou ... 0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=

It is also on the harperreach website: http://www.harperreach.com/products/the-lay-of-aotrou-and-itroun/

Edit: And thanks for the information about the English/Serbian edition. I am aware of that for a while and have been considering getting it for a while now.

Just had a look at my copy of The Welsh Review, which is an A5 booklet, with 63 pages, Tolkien's poem is on 11 pages of A5 printed on both sides, I am struggling with how this can become a 120 page book.

My assumption is, just like The Story of Kullervo, this book too might be embellished with some commentary.

I think it is getting a little out of hand, all these releases with individual stories that are so small they could easily be part of a compendium, like Tales From the Perilous Realm.

Oh well, at least they're priced reasonably, and in a few years, one can get them very cheap.

I recently purchased a brand new hardcover of Hilary Tolkien's "Black and White Ogre Country" for just 2 GBP :)

It looks like it would be 109 extra pages of embellishment and commentary, if I remember correctly, the 1945 Welsh Review had in total, half the number of pages of embellishment and commentary that is now proposed, and that is for the entire Welsh Review.

I do not have The Story of Kullervo, but looking at Amazon and doing the math, it seems the book has only 40 pages of actual "story", with the remaining 150 pages being commentary?

If that's true, then your figure of 109 pages of commentary (new, I assume) for the new Tolkien book might not be such an impossibility.
