Books and other printed materials >> Bodleian will publish a book of new Tolkien material to coincide with 2018 exhibition
Have this information to share on the Collector's Edition: "no details are fully confirmed yet but there will be significant differences to represent the price". The details are expected to be made public in January.
Interesting. Altho', given that they already think the time-scale is too short to procure signings, it seems unlikely that'll be interesting in that direction. Hopefully a better binding, etc.

I wonder why the time-scale is too short for signings. Seems like you could do that in a couple weeks with proper organisation and overnight couriers.
"While poking around a bit (thanks for the news sharing!), I ran across this book from Bodleian [Treasures from the Map Room], and I am thinking if it is worth purchasing. Anyone here have it? Does it have Tolkien's maps reproduced in it?"
Yes, it reproduces the original drawing of Tolkien's map of Wilderland from "The Hobbit" (MS. Tolkien Drawings 35), accompanied by a concise description of the writing and publication history of "The Hobbit" (pp. 204-5).
It is, further, quite a handsome book.

Noticed an article in the Oxford Mail about the exhibition next year, not much new, but it looks to be a free exhibition, which is unusual, as most exhibitions like this have an admission fee

Any update on the deluxe edition features does anyone know? I noticed the normal edition is up on Amazon.

The Bodleian has a website for the exhibition but no new info on the deluxe edition.

For anyone attending, the tickets are free, but I had to pay £1 GBP for a Booking Fee as you can now book online at the website above.
Sorry if it has been posted here already but I just noticed the details of the Deluxe Maker of Middle-earth is back up for pre-order and did not see it added by any of you as yet.
