Yeah, that is indeed just the old render -- BD have had it up since the book was announced.
Not very clear photos, but - as expected - the foil doesn't stand out from the boards. Strange colour choice. Makes the Super Deluxe S&G colour look positively inspired, and makes me think of a Folio Edition for some reason. Hopefully looks better in the flesh.
I’m probably in the minority, but I do like the golden-ish colour they used, although I do agree it makes the foil-stamped motif difficult to see on the slipcase.
I can’t wait to get my copy - I’d been hoping for an illustrated edition evrer since I read the version in UT a decade ago.
By the way, that signed copy is priced extremely high, isn’t it?

It could be the slipcase is on upside-down, but the slipcase doesn't appear to have a foil stamped motif. I don't think it is hard to see; I think it is not present.
The price seems silly to me. Alan Lee's signature isn't worth anything at all.

By the way, the book is printed and bound in Italy by L.E.G.O. S.p.A, and I think that’s half the battle won

Are both the Trade and Deluxe edition printed in Italy?
