Hello guys. For those interested in Chinese translations, I've prepared a detailed list of all the editions published in mainland China and Taiwan up to November 2019. This is my first time to post a topic here, so please let me know if there is anything that I can improve. Thanks~
It seems that pdf file can't be uploaded here, so I've split and transferred it into 28 images.
I also heard some rumours that a few new books are going to be translated and published in China soon:
Seven-volume hardback The Lord of the Rings;
The Fall of Gondolin;
Tolkien: Maker of Middle-earth;
The Hobbit Sketchbook;
Tales from the Perilous Realms;
The Annotated Hobbit;
The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún.

Thank you so much for putting this together! I did note just the other day that somehow I broke pdf uploading, so I will get that fixed as soon as possible.
With your permission, I would like to import the information you have into a database I am working on for Tolkien books (rather than just the images or PDF). Is that ok?

They are both Mandarin, but the writing system was changed in the middle of last century (by the 1960s, but it took decades) to make the characters easier to write. Both are still in use.

Yes, I'm a native Chinese speaker. These information are gathered and based on my personal collection. I've also visited a few local libraries, book shops, and consulted with many online second-hand book sellers to make the printing history section as complete as I can.
As Urulókë has kindly explained, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese are two writing systems for Chinese language. As their names suggest, the latter is more simplified comparing to the former. "Mandarin" is more of a "Spoken Chinese" which is widely spoken in Northern and South western China.

Either is likely fine - what resolution are your thumbnail images in the word document?

Another little side note concerning the differences between Simplified and Traditional is that (very generally put) most areas using the Traditional system have been transitioning to Simplified (such as Hong Kong, Macau, etc.). But Taiwan continues to use Traditional Chinese, resisting the 'trend' (so to speak).
