Greetings Again!
What do you guys think of the signature on this 9th edition The Hobbit?
The book is listed on abe and the seller states that the book was purchased from a son-in-law of the man who got Tolkien to sign it. The book was signed in 1964 in Marylebone, London, and no documentation exists.

Btw, the seller also sells another signed item of unique (in my opinion) nature.
Signed Hobbit Menu!

I like that menu signature - clearly his, and a fun event to remember.
The Hobbit one just doesn’t seem great to me. On my phone so I’m not looking closely at it, and I suppose it could be genuine, but if it is I don’t think Tolkien was all that excited to sign it.

Haha! Greatly appreciated for your input again. I love how the menu was signed. If I had unlimited financial means, the menu would be an amazing and fun item to own.

Looking at it on the laptop, and I am really not a fan of that Hobbit signature.

Nope on The Hobbit, yep on the menu. (The former might be legit, but if so it's atypical and not very desirable; and I wouldn't buy it without solid proof of provenance and authenticity.)

I can't see them on abe now - have they been removed/sold?
