Not a bad price for a 1st edition Peoples of Middle-earth on Abebooks
£125 plus shipping
Fwiw I have a copy in equivalent condition (but the DJ is priced) that I can sell for just under that price to anyone interested here.
Another auction: eBay item number:264634081213
Here is a copy right page for a 1965 15th impression, with no mention of the 3rd edition.
The $99 copy has 1966 as the 15th impression as the first 3rd edition.

Well spotted - the third edition really does start with the 16th impression - the copyright page in the 16th impression mistakenly states the 15th was the first time the third edition text was printed in the hardcover series, but that was a mistake. See Hammond's Bibliography p. 44 for more information.
Yup, as Urulókë states, they are all like that. 15th was 1965 (last of the 2nd), 16th is 1966 (first of the 3rd). A&U just couldn't quite get the info right on the '66.
They also spell "EIGHTH" incorrectly one one of them (missing the final 'H'). Can't remember which one without looking.

1951 Hobbit, No jacket, £125
Guilty. Oh and btw, no, I don't snap things up first

Shifted priorities and all. I miss doing the research though... and am a bit disappointed that I left some smaller Tolkien-related projects in limbo. But who wouldn't like to have more time for hobbies? Maybe if/when I'm house-bound for my inevitable two weeks I can get to some of them.
But very happy to be getting a UK 5th, even without a jacket. And I found a US 5th last week (first state, I only had the second state). A terrible ex-lib copy with jacket flaps pasted on the back pages, but still nice to have... and only $30. Those two copies complete my second edition Hobbits, UK and US. Probably be a while before I replace the four or five that are missing jackets... but I'm getting there!
