I don't understand, I look on ebay each day, with words like "hobbit 1946" and I didn't see this auction. There is a private section or something like this on ebay ?
BINs often sell very quickly if well priced. I'd imagine that was the case with this copy.
What Stu said was probably the case here. I notice that often times that items that originate shipping from the UK are not viewable to other ebay sites (.com .co.uk, etc) unless you are on the same region. I would guess this is due to seller's shipping preferences not being available outside the country, so it will not show up in searches even when selecting 'worldwide' as the item location.

Druss, could that be the way you search on eBay? I know there is a tick-box or was when I used eBay more frequently that allowed one to exclude items that are not shipped to your location. Of course if you are in the UK that is moot as it was from the UK.
Generally, I made research on Ebay US/UK and French, without excluding the location. And I made the research with basic key words, that's all.

So, you suggest that with a VPN, that may make visible some auctions ?
VPN shouldn't make a difference. Just make sure you're on the correct site, and checking often.

Damn, missed it.
Oh well, more fish in the sea. We are definitely seeing more of these show up. Oddly folded jacket on that one. Have seen plenty of oddly folded HoME jackets in the past, but definitely on the extreme end.
