Houghton Mifflin has confirmed with me that there were just some problems in the feed, and there is only the one paperback set coming out. I've removed links to the bad items in previous posts so they don't spread misinformation around.

They also confirmed that the released date has officially been pushed to November 3rd, 2020.

The new LOTR paperback boxset with the Johan Egerkrans cover art arrived today.

Overall I love these covers, and the matte finish of them and the slipcase. They took the title page in a new direction, not sure how I feel about that, but overall a handsome set.

The newer prints of this set are starting to show up with the Clarion label. Looks like HarperCollins is beginning to delineate covers between the WilliamMarrow imprint and Clarion imprint divisions. Seems to be cover based as the old Mariner trades are now WilliamMarrow.
