Entirely possible - though I suspect maybe not quite that high. That's why I wasn't willing to part with any of my copies earlier this year. It is clear that these are currently rising (finally) and I don't think they will be dropping back in the near future.

For my concern, I managed to get very recently my two super deluxe (CoH and TLoS&G) for a quite nice price. And I'm very happy :)

Yeah, would be wanting some decent provenance. e.g. sales receipt from his estate or similar. When it comes to selling books, if a statement such as this doesn't have documentation to back it up (or is implicit due to some specific feature of the book -- e.g. it being a dummy copy or somesuch), the statement is worthless.

The seller is Peter Harrington (ABA, ILAB), a VERY well-known and HIGHLY respected seller of fine antiquarian and otherwise rare books. That should inspire trust, since any strike on their reputation would be hugely costly to them. I expect they obtained the book directly from the estate of Christopher Lee, and/or can otherwise document the provenance.

That being said, I wouldn't pay this much for this book even if it were ex libris Christopher Tolkien, let alone Christopher Lee. But your/others' mileage may vary.
