Amazon.com have some Tolkien Editions on a 3 for 2 offer (some boxsets including the lastest US LOTR 3 Vol Paperback which is well priced at $22.50 and the HOME 3 Vol Deluxe at $145).
May be of use to someone if you could find 3 books you wanted at a similar price to maximise savings.

Smart time to sell this, seems like plenty of people after it.. guessing it will pass £1,000.
Entirely possible - though I suspect maybe not quite that high. That's why I wasn't willing to part with any of my copies earlier this year. It is clear that these are currently rising (finally) and I don't think they will be dropping back in the near future.
Final price was £945

I woulda lost Price is Right... but it's still a close guess, and a lot of money!
Counting postage, final price was £1,000.17. It did technically end up passing £1,000 after all, Berelach.

Way too much. I don't think I'll get my hands over this one if prices are that high.
I think it is on the high side, but.... They originally sold for £350, so purely on UK retail inflation, would be £490 (according to calculator). Add a couple of hundred pounds for the fact that they aren't available any more, CT sadly is not in a position to sign anything else and you are already at £700...
