I didn’t know the cover illustration is by Ted Nasmith until I did a google image search and discovered it is “The Light of Valinor on the Western Sea“ which was used in the 2004 Harper Collins illustrated edition of The Silmarillion.

Thanks for this. The mountains are pretty unmistakably Nasmith but the image did not immediately ring a bell.

Strange. No price listed for me Trotter
Are you in the USA/Outside UK. Amazon have changed listings a bit in last while not showing prices when product is not available to ship to your location.
Shipping locations may be added/updated over time.
Conversely, The Houghton Mifflin Edition is not available to me for shipping from Amazon.com (I am in Ireland).
This may all change closer to release (or maybe not).
Yep its the geo thing. No biggy though. It'll all work out.
Trotter thanks for the details.
I tried it outside of the UK and Amazon.co.uk state Temporarily Out of Stock instead of the price. I use a VPN to get around this nonsense but it is annoying, don't know why they can't show the price but state that they are not currently delivering to your location.
I have also noticed two ISBN's for the UK edition
978-0008387921 (based on price this is the Trade hardback)
978-0008440572 (based on price this is the Deluxe hardback)
Have asked HC for clarification if they are able to.

That's what they do on the .com Site (Show Price but not available to ship to your location) - but different on the UK Site. I have found the UK Site to be a complete mess in the last year. Search is also absolutely horrible.

HC are not able to comment on this
Honestly, it is better behind the paywall, given the unnecessary harsh tone and accusations of the author.

It is a dreadful article. Thankfully it is so short it is over in a couple of minutes. Alex Diggins is such a Tolkien fanatic too, hence the confusion over orc vs ork and I am especially looking forward to reading something from the famous Inkling Hugh Dyson
