Counting the images that he's said in his e-mail, I believe we can expect 4 images in total that have yet to appear within the pages of any illustrated edition (pre-2021, that is), on top of what's appeared in the 2004 edition. In the PPP he didn't mention all of them by name, so I'll withhold further comment until closer to (or ON) publication day. If he did, I'd say more

Well after listening to the PP podcast the impression I got was that the Luthien piece is the only new painting, others are included for the first time in this new edition but have been shown on his website previously. If so, count me disappointed. I am hoping I misinterpreted. Seeing brand new pieces in the UT volume was a real treat.
Honestly, I feel your expectation might be unreasonable in terms of not having had art that has been seen on his website. Only a tiny minority of the audience for the book will have looked through the website at unpublished (other than there) pictures.
Had an email from Speedyhen that my copies have been despatched, hopefully arrive tomorrow or Monday.
Only a few days now until I'll be able to update my Nasmith Silmarillion Artwork Spreadsheet with help of members here. (I already have an illustrated hardback of The Silmarillion, so the purchase of another one....er, isn't 'financially allowed' on my other half's behalf :P I do however have the 2009 Calendar, and will likely get the 2022 one, so that I can still 'have' some of the new artwork.)
Of all the various photos that I'm sure will be posted, I only have one request - the complete list of illustrations.

Not sure where/who peeps have their pre-orders with, but the pre-publiction price drops seem to be hitting about now. A Great Read have the deluxe for £61.84...

Didn't people have problems with agreatread last time? I imagine most large sellers will be in that price range soon enough.
Should get my copies on Monday morning from Speedyhen according to the tracking info, looking forward to seeing them and crossed fingers for the packaging. Speedyhen was £1 more for the Deluxe than A Great Read.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and the increase in delivery fares (Brexit), neither A Great Read nor Speedyhen deliver outside UK That's too bad!
I bought several books from AGR -including UT Collector's Edition at an amazing price of 50£ in pre-order, several months before the publication date in October- and everything was ok (from packaging to books' condition). I miss AGR!
