Yes, you remember well, I wondered what could have caused that marking, it seems unlikely to be a manufacturing issue, but it was really well described by the seller's pictures, maybe too well, it seemed way bigger than it is, but that's another imperfection, it should not cause damage to the gilt around, or so I hope

So I ordered The Saga of King Heidrek the Wise from the tolkien.co.uk website sale, and I have a question for anyone who might have ordered a POD copy of this book.
Please see the images where the printing on the front and back of seem really off-centered.
Is this expected and okay?
I today received the replacement dust jacket. Since it was sent rolled up in a tube, I haven’t yet straightened it out and wrapped it around my book - but by laying it flat it seems the error was fixed. The colour is ever so slightly different but that’s not a complaint.
Thanks Trotter and Stu for your help. ?
Here are my interesting purchases from the last 6 months :)
All English books are first print.
Regarding French books, the Hobbit in the foreground seems very scarce (I've hardly seen it on sale in years) but the others aren't easy to find either.
I also got the trade/deluxe editions of UT/Silm but no need for photos for those (and I didn't want to burn Stu's eyes

Oh, very nice purchases!! Is there a special reason you like to collect French editions?
Additionally, do you think the Folio Society editions are worth their high price, now that you have them?

Bergelmir The Blue Alan Lee box-set, is it HMCo, HarperCollins or Encore on the box?

I was wondering the same, but had ruled out Encore, as I have never seen one without characteristic horizontal scuffs that must have happened before delivery.

Half of my Tolkien related collection is in French, and for a very simple reason... I'm French

I seriously started the collection in English only 2 years ago but I have made good progress since (fortunately, because since Brexit, it is much more expensive).
About the Folio Society, I guess it all depends on the purchase price. For my part, I was rather lucky because I bought all the books in 1 single sale for £ 250 all (book purchase + tax + delivery). Not bad, I think, when I see the current prices for reprints and the importance of taxes in that price.
That said, it all depends on your purchasing power and the importance you give to these books.
Eorl, thank you ! It's a long quest to find these books in very good 1 / 1st condition and at affordable prices

Trotter, Stu : It's HMCo !
