That IS a custom slipcase, as designed by David Miller (Tolkien Bookshelf). Because of that, the cost of the eBay listing should be taken into consideration.

It is very misleading of the seller to describe this as a "centenary boxed set". It isn't - it is the three individual books in an aftermarket slipcase. That slipcase has no *collectible* value whatsoever (though individual people might like bonded-leather aftermarket slipcases, of course - plenty of people I respect do).
Without the original slipcase, these books are not uncommon. I could assemble a set for £60 today.
