I bought some books this week and tried www.reship.com for the first time. I'll let you know, if this could be an alternative.
Please do! I checked out their fees, but the additional costs for this particular book would make the total price too high...

I’d be interested in the additional costs of this service as well. May you tell us more about that, please?
Buying from Britain is a big problem now, after Brexit, especially when using GSP from eBay: a book will cost 25 -30% more than the asking price of the seller - maybe even more ?
I have definitely noticed that buying from overseas (UK and EU) shipping prices have been astronomical for the past year or so. I am hopeful that they will come down again, because adding $30-50 to the price of most books is just not something I am willing to do. I've thus been focusing more on small tidbits that I can find here in the USA for my own collecting bug.

Same, to me it seems that almost all international shipments going to the U.S. have doubled their shipping fees. It's a big obstacle, I've bought next to nothing in the last several months+.
Parcel arrived at reship UK today and was forwarded to Germany after I've payed the shipping fee. Price is ok, and as the seller didn't want to send the books to Germany this was the only way. From the US the prices are slightly below the double of the UK quote.
My parcel arrived safely today. It took 11 days in total from the seller to my home. That's acceptable. The books were safely wrapped in lots of bubble wrap. It cost me in total £5,57 from seller to reship plus £31,17 from reship to Germany. A parcel of the same measurement would have been £21 if sent directly from seller to Germany plus taxes and customs.
If it's the only way to get my hands on the books, it's fine, as many seller's are not willing to send parcels overseas. There was no extra charges for taxes and service fees, as this was already included in the £31,17. So in the end cheaper as the ebay shipping service!

In case it would be useful to some other, I also offer myself. I am a Tolkien fan and I live in Spain.
The problem with customs, such as Spain, is that apart from charging you management costs, they usually apply the general rate of 10% and then the general IVA, 21%. When the book rates are normally 0% and the IVA applicable to books is 4%.
Normally, it is by mistake in the classification of the shipment or directly, because they are interested in charging it and then if you want to claim.
Hello, Glorfindel. There's a book on AbeBooks that I find very interesting. The seller is in Spain, but the shipping to the US/Costa Rica is $61, which I find quite ridiculous. I checked reship.com, but they don't offer their services from Spain, and https://shipping-address-spain.com, but their prices are too high as well.
Do you or anyone know another reshipping site I could use, or would you be willing to assist me? Thanks!

Has someone used reship.com recently to the US? Sometimes I see very good deals on UK sites but they don't ship overseas, so I'm seriously considering trying this out. Of course, adding $30-40 to a book is no fun, but I think sometimes it may be worth it.
