hi all, i am looking for one of the 500(?) HC super deluxe copies of the legend of Sigurd and Gudrun. I feel such gratitude towards the efforts of Christopher and would love to have his signature in such a beautiful book. If anyone has a tip about how best to go about this or is sitting on more than one copy and is looking to sell one please let me know and I hope I can make a nice offer.

Keep an eye on eBay. There was one up on ebay yesterday, but looks like it sold. I guess that is the current going rate. Worth saying that an imperfect copy sold recently for more like £250. Fair value is probably somewhere in the middle.

1000 GBP is way too much IMO, but someone will pay it...just watch.

I agree - I think it is too much for S&G, which just isn't as nice an edition as CoH (I personally prefer the content, mind - I'm just talking about the physical nature of the two editions). Given the current market, I expect it will get the asking price - or close to - even if the seller has to re-list it a couple of times.

Inspired by Stu's confessional mood (silmarillion): I admit to buying this for £800 which I guess is the market price for one of these in new condition. The seller was fair-minded and straight talking.
