It should also be noted it's a reprint.
Does this change something, or it has just less value from a collector's point of view?
This will affect the value from a collector's point of view but the content remains the same as the first impression.

People are grossly overpaying for this edition. If you're going to pay big money you'd be better acquiring a first impression; at least there'll be some residual value in that, in years to come.

Agreed. I remember a while where there was a copy ot two of this in every bookshop I went in. I feel it is a classic case of there not being lots for sale at the moment not really being an indicator that it is actually uncommon.

I notice the market is absolutely flooded with 1st Silmarillions now (I'd like to think the people paying big money feel like chumps). The market for very overpriced stuff saturates pretty fast and then the people who missed their chance to sell at the higher price all come out of the woodwork to jump out as it falls. I think the Foster book is still in the inflation stage.

Thanks! 120£ is too much as I've been told. 100 is the max I'm gonna spend.
Why don't they reprint it, since it's such a nice and rather gorgeous book?

I think I paid about 40 USD for mine only a few years ago. Patience is a virtue here!

Why on earth would you pay £100 for this?
Aaaaand my offer of 80£ was accepted! A kidney and a liver to be sacrificed, luckly I've got to spare.
Thanks for the scouting, will stick to this forum in the future! =)
