I have this horrible feeling it might be a good bit more than 150. I have three years of UK purchases still in the UK stranded by COVID, which I had forgotten about (was only thinking about all the stuff I have boxed here). Even when you are only an occasional buyer like myself, the odd book here and there rapidly adds up, and then at some point they start breeding...

Thanks - Haha yes, I totally understand your feelings. I have myself a good quantity of books which are still in France and I also have to convince my wife that there is still room for these books ?

Just got a 13th impression of the HarperCollins 2012 Collector's Edition and it now has exactly the same text and pagination of this paperback, excluding the first chapter of LotR. Ednpapers have maps in balck and red. On the illustrations' table is stated that Nicolette Caven's B/W reproduction are © 2020 The Tolkien Estate Limited.

Not sure if this was mentioned before, but the Hobbit is interesting in that it has 'different' illustrations to normal.

It contains the Black & White Hill from the 1937 first impression and three black and white versions of Tolkien's illustrations, Rivendell, Bilbo woke with the early sun in his eyes, Bilbo comes to the huts of the raft-elves and Conversation with Smaug.

These illustrations Nicolette Caven and I don't think they have been used before. The books seem to be selling well as my copy of The Hobbit is an 8th Impression.

As usual, it's been 6 months since I posted here so here are my main acquisitions since last summer :

I had this set arrive last night in the mail. These are 1960s pinbacks written in Tengwar (english transcriptions, and not at all well done).
