Am I remembering wrong, or hasn't the "Tolkien: Maker of Middle Earth" deluxe edition signed by Priscilla Tolkien been 350£ from the Bodleian Bookshop? It's currently listed with a price of 495£. Seems like they quickly took inspiration from the recent Folio Society LOTR deluxe pricing.

It was £295 when I bought it in December of last year.

A £200 increase with no previous mention that the price would rise feels fairly 'mobbish' to be frank.

Not to be morbid, but perhaps the perceived value has increased due to Ms. Tolkien’s passing? They are somewhat cynically trying to capture that increase.

And so it begins ... I fear all books Tolkien-related will have their prices increased, especially the expensive ones.

As someone who has been on the fence about buying this for some months: Lame.

i guess it gets you off the fence… Seriously, though, a 68% price increase on a stocked product is astonishing.
