Curious if anyone else is seeing this on their copies (hopefully not)?

Ugh. I wouldn't consider that acceptable and would contact FS for customer service help.

Curious as to what the Folio Society could do at this point? A refund? I had pondered what options someone had on sold out limited edition sets if a set was lost in shipping or damaged as they probably don’t have much spare stock?

They haven't finished binding them all yet. I would expect they have some (small) contingency for situations like this. They certainly would have had some extras to target a final number of 1025 in order to account for copies having issues during the binding process. The limitation is tipped in, so they could easily have another copy of the same number produced assuming they have a few unnumbered spares.

Yes makes sense to set aside some sparing…probably the number based on their experience (barring unexpected major flaws.)
And btw, my set is not showing any of the split leather…yet.

(This was my post on Reddit). Happy to have a copy, but will be contacting FS to see what they can do. Will report back as to the resolution!

Good luck! Would it be ok if I copy the photo from Reddit to this thread for future reference?
Thanks! And absolutely.
I'm curious if anyone else is seeing a similar issue. I suspect they embossed (maybe too deeply), then stretched the leather around the spine, essentially creating a weak point at the edge, which caused the tear.

They should definitely replace your copy--especially because that set was so expensive.
