That is quite normal for eBay, the Sniping tools usually bid in the last 5 seconds.

Abebooks just listed one without the dustjacket for £1500 minutes after the auction ended

Oh, I didn't know that there was software for doing this!

Did not think it would go for as much as this, I know it has a partial dust-jacket.
My guess was $2500, didn't think it would go this high, but not shocked.

Was more than expected though , if complete maybe ?
I think the final sale price, would have been ok if the jacket was in better shape, but with the jacket the way it was, it was a tad high IMO
Wow. Didn't expect that to go as quickly as it did! Oxfam also had two out of the three out of the 1963 deluxe edition for £330 which went after a few hours.

The 1963 part set was me - I wanted the RoTK to complete my incomplete set. Of course I will now have a spare TT, so I can either start building a third set or see if I can sell the TT. Even if I don't manage to sell the spare, the whole set was sub-£500, which in today's market is good. I'm going to use my set with the original box as a template to make a really accurate high-quality facsimile slipcase for it.
Thanks to laurel for the heads-up about it being on the Oxfam site.
